A sentence is usually experienced in its
use of repetition. Therefore we can remove it by using the word "so"
and "too" if we approve a positive phrase that is often referred to
as affirmative agreement. We also can use the word "neither" and
"either" if it be a negative sentence or a negative agreement.
Formula Affirmative Agreement :
So => so + auxiliary verb + subject
Too => subject + auxiliary verb +
subject
Example :
A : I'm feeling tired (simple present
continuos)
B : So am I
B : I am too
Formula Negative Agreement
Neither => neither + aux. verb +
subject positive
Either => subject + negative aux.
verb + either
Example :
A : I never read newspaper (for negative
sentences should not use "no" but can also use the
"never".)
B : Neither do I / I don't either
Modal that can be used in a sentence :
can, may, could, will, would.
Auxiliary verb :
do/does (simple present)
did (simple past)
had (past perfect)
has/have (present perfect)
Example :
A : I live in Depok
B : So do I / I do too (not "so am
I" because simple present tense)
More Example :
1. A : I always have a cup of coffe in
the morning.
B : So do i / I do too
2. A : I didn’t enjoy the movie last
night
B : Neither did / I didn’t either
3. A : I’ve here been in brasil
B : Neither have i / I havent either
4. A : I studied last night
